PROGRAM PRE-REQUISITES
To ensure training is efficient, safe, and focused on checkride completion, students entering the Pillar Flight Academy Finish-Up Program must meet the following prerequisites:
1) Training Records & Eligibility
Provide a copy of your current logbook(s) (paper or digital) showing total time and recent flight experience.
Provide your FAA certificate (Student / Private / Instrument, as applicable).
Provide a valid government-issued photo ID.
2) Medical / Student Pilot Requirements
Private Pilot Finish-Up (PPL): Must hold a valid Student Pilot Certificate and a current FAA Medical Certificate (or meet applicable eligibility requirements).
Instrument / Commercial Finish-Up: Must hold the appropriate pilot certificate and medical required for the rating sought.
3) Written Exam Status
One of the following must be met:
FAA knowledge test completed, or
Actively enrolled in an approved ground school (Sporty’s or equivalent) with an agreed completion timeline.
4) Minimum Checkride Requirements
Students should have completed, or be substantially near completion of, FAA minimum aeronautical experience requirements for the rating sought under 14 CFR Part 61.
The Finish-Up Program is intended for pilots approaching checkride readiness rather than initial training.
Any additional flight, ground, or experience requirements identified during the evaluation phase that are needed to meet FAA eligibility standards will be added to the training plan and may adjust the total program cost accordingly.
5) Evaluation & Training Commitment
Ability to train consistently (4–5 training events per week) to maintain proficiency and training momentum.
6) Safety & Professional Standards
Agreement to follow all Pillar Flight Academy safety policies, SOPs, and instructor guidance.
Maintain professional conduct and a coachable attitude throughout training.
7) Required Documents Before Scheduling
Students must provide:
Pilot certificate(s) and photo ID
Medical certificate (if applicable)
Knowledge test results (if completed)
Logbook totals or digital export
Previous training records or endorsements (if available)
